God is not a Liar

GOD IS NOT A LIAR, HE DOES NOT CHANGE,
SO DO NOT BE AFRAID

This writing is in two parts, the first is an introductory insight into the fears of Christians who love Yeshua (Jesus) but who somehow cannot break free from unscriptural traditions that they have become so committed and accustomed to. The second has to do with getting back to the Hebrew Roots of our Christian faith and unto the Torah, (Teaching and Instructions of God) and to the unchanging Elohim (God) of Scripture.

What are Christians afraid of? Part 1

by: John T. Webb

There is one aspect of life and faith of which Christians are deeply afraid. I know because I used to be. My life was okay. I was comfortable with my faith. I knew the Lord and was sure of where I was going to end up -- that's it: UP. As Robert Browning expressed it, I knew that "God's in His heaven and all's right with the world."

So what was there to fear? For "God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind" (2 Tim. 1:7). And yet there was this one thing that, if someone mentioned it, I would cringe from it. I could not bear the thought of it happening. It would disrupt my world, my ease, my comfort. My friends had this same phobia. Everyone said there was nothing to worry about. It couldn't happen. It shouldn't happen! And if it did happen, then something was intrinsically wrong with everything that we knew to be true. But truth is truth, isn't it? Jesus said "I am the truth." I really believed (and still do believe) that. If you are a Christian, you probably believe that. Chances are, you probably have the same fear that I had! You don't want to have your life turned upside down, either. Well, it happened! My fear was realized! But truth is still truth, and God is still in His heaven. I have been changed! Yes, that was my fear -- change! Change in many of my beliefs. Change in the traditions that I observe. Eliminating many of the things in my life that I used to believe were true but found out that they are caused by ignorance, misunderstandings, mistranslations, oversight, misguidance, and downright lies!

So just what has changed? Well, much of what I had considered true has been replaced with what is actually true. Is truth subjective? It shouldn't be! Fact is fact. Opinion is subjective. Translation of a word from one language to another can be subjective depending on the translator's opinion, unless there is only one possible translation. Much of the reason for so many Christian denominations today is because of Bible translators' promulgating their own agendas. Knowing the background of a teaching or a belief can help immeasurably in changing what you believe. Learning that background can only be achieved by study -- unless, of course, you have your own agenda and want to throw in your own interpretation; that is, just make something up!

Are you open to change if you can be shown that what you have been taught is in error?

Much of current Christian doctrine is MODERN teaching from just the last 200 years. If we would learn the truth of what the writers of the Bible intended for us to know, we must go back of these modern concepts. We must go back of the past 1800 years of denominationalism and factionalism and error and come to a knowledge of how the writers of the Bible thought. By birth and ancestry, they were Hebrew. Their speech was Hebrew. Their thought patterns were Hebrew. And unless we can at least begin to comprehend how they thought, then we are lost in our Western, Greek mentality with all of the pagan influences brought into the Church in the second, third, and fourth centuries. "Study to show yourself approved unto God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth."

Are YOU afraid of change?

Is 'Elohiym (God) a Liar? Part 2

by: Frank Guasto

Since May of 2004 my understanding of the Scriptures has been enhanced tremendously, and this is mostly due to becoming acquainted with what is generally considered to be the Hebraic Roots movement. This movement has to do with getting back to the Hebraic roots of our Christian faith. Previously, in the Christian Church setting I had much difficulty trying to achieve contextual continuity and getting Scripture to line up with other Scripture, such as getting the Old Testament to agree with the New Testament; how does grace co-partner with judgment, faith with works and the list goes on. It seemed that many times a teaching was being established on the foundation of one or two verses. During this process it was evident to me that many other parts of Scripture were being violated to satisfy personal, doctrinal viewpoints. This did not make any sense to me.

I needed answers that I was afraid to ask in the church. My questions were generally considered to be contentious or confrontational. I finally chose not to upset anyone by asking these questions that either could not or would not be answered. After much prayer and study it seemed best for me to pursue the answers to my questions outside normal church influence. With the help of the Spirit of truth, and Hebraic Roots Teaching, the Scriptures have not only come alive for me but led me into the Holy of Holies of YHWH’s Word and delivered me from the absence of truth that I had inherited through traditions of men (Jer 16:19) from the lies, vanity and things that were inherited by our fathers in which there is no profit.

Because I have received such seemingly undeserved illumination, I feel not only obligated but also compelled to share what I have received from the Father. I have approached many of my Christian brethren with several questions that I felt needed to be asked, this in order to determine their positional view of salvation and the walk of redemption. In doing so I have asked them to take ALL OF SCRIPTURE into account before answering the following questions. Here they are.

  1. Do you believe that -- (Numbers 23:19) God (Elohim) [is] not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent. Hath he said, and shall he not do [it]? Or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?
  2. Do you believe -- (Malachi 3:6) For I [am] YHWH (LORD), I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed.
  3. Do you believe that -- (Hebrews 13:8) Yeshua (Jesus) is the same yesterday, today, and forever.
  4. Do you believe that -- (James 1:17) Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.
  5. Do you believe that -- (John 1:1) In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with Elohim, and the Word was Elohim.
John 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father), full of grace and truth.
  6. Do you believe all of Scripture is the inspired Word of Elohim?
  7. And finally I asked: Do you believe that the Creator (The Great I AM) of the Torah (Law), The Commandments at Sinai, and Yeshua that died on the cross for our sins are one and the same?

WITHOUT EXCEPTION THE ANSWER WAS ALWAYS A RESOUNDING -- YES OF COURSE!

My next question would be the following. Would you then agree that if Elohim has not changed, and therefore the Law (Torah), has not passed away (just as Yeshua said, Mat 5:17-18) and neither has His Sabbaths, Feast Days or His Dietary Laws? Unfortunately, the normal reply were things like "all that Sabbath stuff was changed and done away with by Messiah’s resurrection, or the New Testament trumps the Old Testament !" By this time they take on a bewildered stare leaving the impression, that in their mind I somehow have been abducted by some Jewish cult, brainwashed, have abandoned Jesus, and am now trying to achieve salvation by works.

The truth is that there has definitely been a brainwashing, this by truly being cleansed and sanctified with the washing of water by the word (Eph 5:26). And by laying the teachings of men aside and dealing in the reality of the Word it becomes all too clear that much of what I have learned previously is in error.

In my humble opinion, the important thing is that by taking exception to the above they are in ignorance, and I pray, unintentionally, relegating the Creator and the Savior of the world to the position and name of LIAR. Their later actions and verbal response contradict their answers to the seven questions posed earlier.

In Lk 4:18-19 Yeshua "came to preach deliverance to the captives, to preach the acceptable year of YHWH." This was to the banished tribes of the house of Israel who were divorced and in exile because of running after foreign Elohims. Because of this they were divorced and detached from Torah (YHWH’s teaching and instruction), and were given over to the nations (Ez 20:25). He gave them statutes that were not good and ordinances by which they could not live.

Whether you wish to believe it or not we have been in exile, living in oppression and away from the pure word of Elohim for 2000 years, much of it as a result of early church intervention and influence by the likes of pagan priests such as Origin, Eusebius and Constantine. The Roman church usurped the authority of Elohim and replaced it with papal authority. For about 1700 years and counting, the Roman Catholic Church has set themselves up as the ON EARTH authority of the Word of Elohim. Protestantism has moved away from some of the Roman Catholic traditions, but most of these Roman Catholic traditions are still prevalent in the Protestant Church. The prophets warned us that there would be those who would come to change the times and the Law (Torah) of YHWH and replace them with man made laws that would not be good for us.

For many years we have been held captive by traditions established by our fathers. These traditions have become so engrained in every aspect of our spiritual life that we have become paralyzed and cemented in to a Greco-Roman mindset. The result is that we have not been able to worship Him in spirit and in truth and we are not receiving the fullness of the blessings of Elohim, that include long life, health and prosperity. We have become the tail and not the head because we are not walking in Elohim’s commandments (Mitzvoth). Yeshua said in:

Jn 8:31:
"Then said Yeshua to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in My Word, [then] are ye My disciples indeed;"

Jn 8:32:
"And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free."

Jn 8:36:
"If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed."

Christianity as well as Judaism has polluted YHWH’s Word.

CHRISTIANITY --- has done so by taking away from the Word and replacing it with non-Biblical days such as Sun-Day worship in place of Sabbath, Christmas instead of Tabernacles and Easter in place of Passover.

JUDAISM --- has done so by adding to the Word with The Talmud (commentary writings of what Rabbis believe is "oral" Law extended from the Law given at Sinai), giving it an even higher place of priority than the Torah.

Both of these are examples of combining man's ways with YHWH's and calling them the Word of Elohim -- Is 53:6: "All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and YHWH hath laid on him the iniquity of us all."

Judaism, in their attempt to preserve Elohim’s Torah, Rabbinical Judah placed safeguards around Torah so it would remain intact for to them, (Judah) was committed the oracles of Elohim, (Rom 3:2). While meticulously and cautiously caring for the Torah, they set up what is called a fence. This fence contained man made rabbinical safeguards that were and still are laws within laws, rituals within rituals that were initially meant to preserve and protect the integrity of the Torah. In the process of time these traditions became a form of captivity and more important in Judaism than the Torah as Mark 7:1-13 will attest to.

Christianity has also set up its own fence, a hypothetical framework that the church carries more weight than Scriptural fact.

When this type of behavior or pattern takes place, it is done in the spirit of Lawlessness (Torahlessness). We reference this by using the word Anti. The personification of this in the Greek would be Antichristos and in the Hebrew Mashiyach-Tachat. A proper rendering of the meaning of the Anti-Christ or Anti is --- "The Instead Of" or as in reference to the Anti-Christ --: "The Instead Of One".

This "Instead Of One" is a person or spirit that comes as an angel of light in an attempt to deceive many by trying to take the place of the true Messiah. Anti, as used here, does not mean against or in opposition to Messiah, for if it did we would be immediately aware of this spirit as an opposing force or as an imposter.

In Matthew 24:5 it says:
"For many will come in my name, saying that I am the Christ: and deceive many ..." Until recently I have been walking around with an incorrect understanding of this verse, because I did not have a deeper contextual understanding of all of Scripture. What this verse is actually saying is "many will say and preach and agree that Yeshua is the Messiah", but the problem is that through ignorance at best, and deceit at worst, we have been presented with a Romanized version of Messiah instead of a Hebraic, Torah keeping Messiah. We have been calling Him Christ or Messiah but in reality the Hebrew "Biblical Yeshua" has been replaced with the dispensational, ever changing Greco-Roman-Christianized version of the unchanging Elohim.

The false Christ’s are easily identified in Matthew 24:24: "For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if [it were] possible, they shall deceive the very elect".

We have lost sight of who or what the imposter is because we have lost sight in what the Word of Elohim said from the beginning and if we do not have an understanding of what the Spirit of Truth is teaching us from the beginningwe will without a doubt have a convoluted, confused and improper understanding of our redemptive walk. INSTEAD, we will be walking according to our own ways, (traditions of men) mixing them with Elohim’s ways, and MIXING is an abomination to YHWH.

Rev 3:15-16:
"I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth."

Amos 3:3:
"Can two walk together, except they be agreed?"

DT 12:32:
"What thing soever I command you, observe to do it: thou shalt not add thereto, nor diminish from it."

Mixing is what the Golden Calf incident is all about, which is taking something out of our foolish imaginations or worldly experiences, attaching the name of YHWH-Yeshua to it and calling it Elohim. By doing this we are in violation of His 1st, 2nd,3rd and 4th commandments. This is what was done at Sinai (Ex 32:4) and also by Jereboam in 1Kings 12:28-33.

Ro 1:21:
"Because that, when they knew Elohim, they glorified [him] not as Elohim, neither were they thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened."

Ro 1:22:
"Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,"

Ro 1:23:
"And changed the glory of the incorruptible Elohim into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and four footed beasts, and creeping things."

Is 53:6:
"All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and YHWH hath laid on him the iniquity of us all."

2Peter2:15:
"Which have forsaken the right way, and are gone astray, following the way of Balaam [the son] of Bosor, who loved the wages of unrighteousness."

Rev 2:5:
"Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the *first* works; (mitzvoth) or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent."

WHAT ARE THE WORKS OF ELOHIM ?

Yeshua is saying do the First Mitzvoth which in English means Commandments (Strong's #4687 Mitzvoth). Yes, that is correct, ALL of the TEN COMMANDMENTS and the 613 commandments as they apply to you. What I mean as they apply to you is: some are instructions for women only, some for men only, some for the priests only and so on.

Yeshua said in 1Jn 2:3:
"For this is the love of Elohim, that we keep His commandments; and His commandments (Mitzvoth) are not burdensome."

The word keep implies and also means to guard, tend to, attend to carefully, take care of. This is to say that we should ALWAYS uphold and revere the commandments and never speak against them. This does not mean that we flawlessly obey every commandment all of the time or that we even can, but it certainly does not mean that we should ignore or minimize them. We have a tendency to think that they no longer apply or exist in our time because of the resurrection. How can this be, for they are YHWH-Yeshua’s instructions forever. Did you catch that? FOREVER! YHWH does not change.

Doing the commandments are doing the mitzvoth of Elohim. Another way to look at this is doing the commandments are doing the works or deeds of Elohim. He repeats over and over again through all of Scripture:

Ex15-25:
"If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of YHWH thy Elohim, and wilt do that which is right in his sight, and wilt give ear to His commandments, and keep all His statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I [am] YHWH that healeth thee."

Read the Book of Psalm 119 and note carefully that is ALL about doing the commandments of Elohim.

His commandments, folks, are not raising money at a church banquet or fun fair to help little Jimmy with leg braces, or to have a rummage sale to purchase new backboards for the gymnasium, and so many other things that we do and call good works. All these things in and of themselves are honorable, but I believe YHWH said that obedience is better than sacrifice (1Sam 15:22). To embrace truth is to accept Scripture by taking Him at His Word and being obedient to it. If we do what He says, there would not be the need for church fundraisers, rummage sales and the like, because He, YHWH is our provider. In His Torah, YHWH promises over and over again that if we keep His commandments he will see to it that:

  1. Life may go well with you. (Dt 4:40; 6:18).
  2. Long life on the earth (same as above).
  3. Victory over your enemies (Dt 6:19).
  4. It will be your righteousness (Dt 6:25).
  5. YHWH will love, bless, multiply you in every way (Dt 7:11-14).
  6. Physical healing and freedom from diseases (Dt 7:15).
  7. Torah is your life (Dt 30:15-16; 32:52).
  8. Blessings (Dt 28:1-14).

Paraphrasing Nbrs 23:19b:
"Hath he said, and shall He not do it ? or has He spoken, and shall He not make it good?"

When we change the Word of Elohim (Elohim) we also change Him into an image that fits our imaginations, and professing to be wise we become as fools.

James 4:4:
"Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with Elohim? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of Elohim."

Rom 12:2:
"And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what [is] that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of Elohim."

Ex 25:9:
"According to all that I shew thee, [after] the pattern of the tabernacle, and the pattern of all the instruments thereof, even so shall ye make [it]."

James 1:8:
"A double minded man [is] unstable in all his ways.

Phi 2:5:
"Let this mind be in you, which was also in Messiah Yeshua:"

Please remember the mind that was in Yeshua had a Hebrew mindset, not Greek.

Jn 8:39:
"They answered and said unto him, Abraham is our father. Yeshua saith unto them, If ye were Abraham's children, ye would do the works of Abraham."

Ge 26:4:
"And I will make thy seed to multiply as the stars of heaven, and will give unto thy seed all these countries; and in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed;"

By our faith we are sanctified (made holy) and receive salvation, which brings the birthright, our adoption as sons of Elohim.

By our obedience to Torah we appropriate the blessings of Elohim, long life and prosperity.

HERE ARE THE WORKS OF ABRAHAM

Ge26:5:
"Because that Abraham obeyed my voice, and kept my charge, my commandments, my statutes, and my laws."

Jn 5:45:
"Do not think that I will accuse you to the Father: there is [one] that accuseth you, [even] Moses, in whom ye trust."

Jn 5:46
"For had ye believed Moses, ye would have believed me: for he wrote of me."

Jn 5:47:
"But if ye believe not his writings, how shall ye believe my words?"

Mat 4:4:
"But he answered and said, It is written, man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of Elohim."

Mat 28:19:
"Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:"

Mat 28-20:
"Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, [even] unto the end of the world. Amen."
