This section will be devoted to Scriptural words and their meaning. We will not only establish the etymological roots of these words, but we will reveal how many English words are actually Hebrew words. Everything and anything you might want to know about the Hebrew language will be discussed and presented in this section.

E-mail us if you want to know what a particular word is and we will be happy to post it here for all to read. If you are interested in it, maybe many others are, too.

MINISTER

The English word 'minister' finds it's root in the Hebrew word miyn, which first appears as the phrase 'after it's kind' in the first chapter of B'reshith. In this chapter we find that, in the beginning, YHVH put a seed within vegetation so that they would multiply after themselves. A small part of the whole (the seed) produces another 'after it's kind'. This is the etymylogical background of the word 'mini', 'minor', 'minus', 'minute' and 'minimum'.

Yahshua used this same background in his teaching on those who are affectionately called, Rabbi, father, or master. A minister is to be a humble servant and a chip off the ol' block, so to speak. "But he who is greatest among you shall be your servant." Mattityahu 23:11. Are your local ministers servants in your community or are they being served?

Shalom Alecheim!
