We will not only establish the etymological roots of these words, but we will reveal how many English words are actually Hebrew words. Everything and anything you might want to know about the Hebrew language will be discussed and presented in this section.

GEMARA

Gemara is generally considered to be a conclusive commentary and hermeneutic of Mishnah made by Jewish scholars called Amoraim. The word 'gemara' is traced to the Aramaic as meaning 'to learn'. This word is gamar in the Hebrew, which means to complete or conclude. Some believe that this is a more accurate view of the meaning of Gemara. This word is used several times in scripture.

Mizmor 138:8
"YHVH will PERFECT that which concerns me. Thy mercy, O YHVH endures forever; forsake not the works of thine own own hands."

Ezra 7:12
"Artaxerx'es, king of kings, unto Ezra, the priest, the scribe, even a scribe of the words of the law, of the God of heaven, PERFECT peace, and so forth."
