This section will be devoted to Scriptural words and their meaning. We will not only establish the etymological roots of these words, but we will reveal how many English words are actually Hebrew words. Everything and anything you might want to know about the Hebrew language will be discussed and presented in this section.E-mail us if you want to know what a particular word is and we will be happy to post it here for all to read. If you are interested in it, maybe many others are, too.
COASTSIt is generally agreed by most prophetic teachers that the coasts, isles and coastlands are all a reference to the Americas and Britain, for example, or the places that the gentiles reside. Even though these countries are responsible for qazillions of missionaries, great humanitarian acts, and the rebuilding of many war torn countries, these places are cultures that remain, to this day, as the source of greed, immorality, and gluttony. After all, we are the largest consumers in the world. This is because of the abandonment of Torah, the tree of life, for the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. The word 'coasts' itself, is a testimony to the nature of the cultures of the isles. We are told in B'reshith 10:5 that the isles are 'of the Gentiles'. The word 'isles', or coastlands, is from the Hebrew word 'iyyiym. The verbal root of this word is avah. This word is translated as 'desires', 'covet', and 'lust'.
Mishlei 21:26 But there will come a day when the Torah of our God will be restored, and the coastlands that have turned from YHVH our 'Elohiym with their own lusts and desires, will once again turn to His ways.
Yesha'yahu 42:1-4
